She first learned about organized armwrestling in the mid-'80s when she went to cheer on a friend who was competing. After watching a few more tournaments, she was eventually asked by John Miazdzyk if she'd be willing to take on drawsheet duties. Very qucikly, she became a fixture at Alberta tournaments lending a hand in a variety of capacities. She became the CAWA Secretary-Treasurer in 1988, where she helped bring Eastern and Western Canada together by assisting with some of the big Quebec and Ontario tournaments. In 1989 she was named official WAF Director of Weigh-Ins, a position she held for close to a decade. Her contributions were so valued that she was given the WAF John Miazdzyk award for dedication in 1992. Over the years, she has helped organize many provincial, national and world tournaments. She's assisted many individuals across a variety of organizations, over multiple decades. It's no surprise that she was nominated for this award by several different people.
She got her start in the sport back in 1981. She did well in local tournaments but remained somewhat under the radar until she began travelling to major events. But once she started, she made a splash. She won close to 20 national titles in the Canadian Armwrestling Association and the B.C. based Canadian Wristwrestling Federation between the mid-'80s and mid-'90s. She also won 11 world titles between 1983 and 1994, including 6 World Wristwrestling titles, back to back-to-back AWI world pro titles in Las Vegas and 3 WAF World titles. After being retired from the sport for about a dozen years, she was motivated to return in 2008 upon learning that the WAF World Championship would be held in Kelowna. She showed that she still had what it took: she won 2 National titles that year and made it to the podium at Worlds.
She got her start in the sport as a teenager in the mid-'90s. She developed her skills and strength during her first few years of pulling and before long was winning National titles in the lightweight classes. Some of her competitive accomplishments include winning CAWF female puller of the year honours in 2004 and 2005, close to a dozen National titles and 2 medals at the WAF World Championship. On top of her accolades at the table, she has contributed tremendously behind the scene. After serving in the role of President of the Saskatchewan Armwrestling Association for many years, she was elected Secretary-Treasurer for the CAWF in 2013. In addition to the regular duties that came with this position, she took on head scorekeeper responsibilities and helped create the Ethics Advisory Committee. Her dedication led to her being recognized with the John Miazdzyk Award in 2016.
